New high-current test probe for 400.0 A
PTR HARTMANN GmbH supplies high-current test probes of 16.0 A to 100.0 A for intervals of 2.54 to 7.60 mm. This extensive range is now joined by a new HSK 5455 high-current test probe.
The HSK 5455 is designed for a rated current of up to 400.0 A and is optimally suited for use in function testing, signal transmission and energy supply. Despite its compact dimensions, this contact unit is suitable for use even under tough production conditions – lateral forces and vibration cause it no problems. The special design permits deflection of the probe tip up to an angle of 3.0°, making it possible to compensate for axial tolerances. The probe tip is also equipped with thirty additional, separately sprung contact pins, making it possible to balance out any unevenness in the contact surface.
The extremely low contact resistance is achieved via the use of a continuous plunger, a large number of highly conductive and readily contacting probe plungers consisting of a silver alloy, and highly conductive copper alloys as the base material, combined with coatings consisting of a tarnish-resistant and abrasion-proof silver alloy.
The electrical connection at the end of the contact can be accomplished using a cable lug. We recommend the use of a highly flexible conductor for connection, in order not to obstruct movement, since deflection of the probe tip also causes the connecting area to move.
